State Conference 2015 Sept 24-26

We are so looking forward to another powerful conference in September 2015!

After the success of our 2014 “CELEBRATE” conference, one our best conferences ever, full details on our 2015 conference will be posted shortly. Our heart is to help all our pastors and leaders build strong and healthy churches right across our state, with new initiatives, Pastors Intensives and regional breakfasts, all aimed to encourage a sense of family across our movement.

With such a strong sense that “This is our time”, we’re looking forward to a great season ahead together.

We are also looking for many volunteers for conference. If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers just fill in this form and we’ll find something for you to do.

Thank you to our amazing key sponsors: Compassion, Alphacrusis, Ultra106five, ACS Financial

Working With Children Check

The Department of Justice has been implementing The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 (the Act) which requires people who work closely with children in certain activities to be registered.

The implementation of the Act is being phased in to different sectors, with the Child Care Services being first. The cost for the Working with Children Check (the Check) will be $17.76 for volunteers.

The associations (which includes churches) is due to commence on 1 October 2014 until 31 March 2015, with mandatory registration from 1 April 2015.

As part of the initial process, the Department of Justice is offering a number of free seminars to help people to understand the new requirements and the Check.

The seminars will include information on:

  • how the Check differs to any previous screening process
  • who will and won’t need a Check
  • how to get a Check
  • what is checked
  • how a clearance may be verified
  • the timeline for change
  • questions regarding the process
